12/27 Early in The Morning

12/27 Early in The Morning 150 150 The Band of Heathens

Man, so I’m just coming down from a food and wine filled weekend with friends and family.  I have to say things can be pretty right in the universe sometimes.
We’ve been off the road and on home turf for the month of December, but I wouldn’t exactly call it downtime.  People are always curious as to what we’re doing when we’re not driving all over the place playing shows.
Well…
For starters, we’re trying to find some time to recharge our creative batteries.  That means everything from picking up a guitar and singing or writing down some random shit (like I’m doing right now) or hanging out with our beautiful families and friends or having drinks, (which I may or may not be doing right now).
As individuals and a collective, we’re really passionate and active about creating and producing new material.  As I type this, we’re in the final stages of creating a running order for our new album.  We just finished mixing the tracks and are piecing it together trying to find the perfect sequence.  The one that hits you just right in your car when you’re driving or in your headphones when you’re in your own world, but most importantly in your heart and your head, (seriously we obsess about stuff like this).
Everybody in the band likes it a lot, we think it’s different, but it’s also a realization of a lot of sounds that we’ve been hearing in our heads and have finally gotten down on tape, for the record (vinyl records that is).
I think that you’re going to like it too.
You being the fans, the music lovers, the people that have helped us create a space to be creative and free in.  Being fans of music is what lead us to want to play and create music, so we totally relate and genuinely appreciate you and thank you for your support everyday.  This doesn’t mean that you can come onstage and take our beers (well at least not mine anyways). We cherish and adore you, but even love has some boundaries.
I guess this was my long-winded way of saying thanks and sharing a little bit about what’s been going on in our world the last month or so.  We’ve had a great year playing all over the place to friends new and old.  We look forward to doing the same thing next year, with a new record and new songs and new experiences to take in.  We hope you’ll come along for the ride.
Well that’s about it for now.  Stay safe and healthy, but remember to have fun, as much as you possibly can, at all costs.  I know we do.
Thanks for listening.
Salutations,
ej
