Introducing The Band of Heathens

Award-winning Austin rock and roll stalwarts, The Band of Heathens, has enjoyed sustained success for more than a decade, racking up 10 albums and over twelve hundred performances in thirteen countries. Founding members Gordy Quist and Ed Jurdi first came together in 2005, and were joined by Trevor Nealon on keys in 2009 and Richard Millsap on drums in 2012. Bassist Jesse Wilson came on board in 2017.

Between 2008 and 2018, The Band of Heathens released two live albums and six studio albums, four of which went to either #1 or #2 on the Americana Radio Albums Chart, and earned a pair of Americana Music Awards nominations. Then in 2020, they released the acclaimed Stranger which Rolling Stone called a “perfectly curated mix tape of sinewy Rolling Stones rockers, aching Eagles ballads, and Gram Parsons weepers.”

The band’s social performance has been bolstered by a steady drip of press coverage and digital promotion since the release of Stranger. They have also enjoyed a high level of streaming activity from a chart-smashing single, “Hurricane,” which American Idol contestant, Laine Hardy, auditioned with and performed again on his way to winning season 17.

Unable to tour in support of the new album, the band made the most of the livestream experience with its acclaimed weekly virtual concert series titled the “Good Time Supper Club.” Featured in an NBC News piece about musicians pivoting during the pandemic, frontman Gordy Quist said, “What we lack in rock ‘n’ roll energy, we make up for in intimacy and humor.” “The concerts and other streaming shows we do help bridge a gap and keep a roof over our heads.”
